Norma was born September 12, 1928 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Lucille and Monroe Day.  She lived in Texas before coming to Decatur in 1953.  She married Jake D. Helton in 1954.  He preceded her in death in 1981.  She worked at Greenberg’s Shoe Store for many years and also for Decatur Window Cleaners and was a lunch room supervisor at Thomas Jefferson School.  She was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God Church.  She was also a member of Royal Neighbors of America and was a recorder for several years.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter; Cheryl Huddlestun of Decatur, son; Jake “Jay” D. Helton and his wife Stephanie of Central Point, Oregon, brothers; Michael (Mike) Day and his wife Dottie of Owasso, Oklahoma and William (Bill) Day of Wagner, Oklahoma,  grandchildren; Robert Neideffer of Decatur, Cathy Neideffer of Decatur, Laura Benton of Warrensburg and Bryanna Helton of Central Point, Oregon, great grandchildren; Shelby Benton & Cori Benton of Warrensburg and Mackenzie Auton of Decatur.  She also leaves special friends Cheryle Gregory, Doris Martin and Steve Smith.

Norma was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to so many.  She takes with her so much love and our lives will not be the same without her. If there was ever an angel on earth, our mother was it.  She dearly loved her family and was always there for everyone.  She will be greatly missed and forever loved.
